Samsung Communications appoints New General Manager

Samsung Communications, leading enterprise IP communications solutions vendor/distributor, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett McInnes as General Manager.

Brett comes to the position with considerable senior level telecoms industry experience. He has held key management positions in Australia, the Asia Pacific region and Europe in companies such as Telstra, MCI and Ovum Consulting.  Most recently, Brett was Director, Communications Products Group with Panasonic Australia – he headed the business unit responsible for PBX solutions and Home Communications products.

He holds a number of esteemed qualifications including a Bachelor and Master of Business from the Queensland University of Technology and an Associate Diploma of Export Management from the Australian Institute of Exporting.

Brett explains that the move to his new GM role at Samsung Communications was appealing to him on a number of levels.  Firstly, the vision for the business of Steve Plant (Managing Director of Samsung Communications) who recently acquired the business from Commander.  Secondly, the chance to develop and promote both the highly regarded product and Samsung Communications brand and thirdly, the ability to build upon key strategic business partnerships and lead new business opportunities.

“Samsung Communications is in a very strong position as a leading player in the important growth product areas of IP telephony, enterprise mobility and unified communications within the SMB market,” he says. “With our proposition, innovative OfficeServ IP solutions and highly skilled channel partners, we will grow our business and market share steadily while other vendor brands will struggle with the shift towards IP solutions and the changing economic conditions”.

“Samsung Communications has a real pedigree in the SMB market,” he says. “Together with our channel partners, we are enthusiastic about the clear and tangible opportunity to build on that base through a dynamic business model and supporting channel programs that seek to add-value at every stage and deliver the best IP communication solutions to every one of our SMB customers.”

Brett McInnes is based at Samsung Communications head office in Melbourne.
